You'll find recreational crabbing is a popular activity all along the Oregon Coast. Here are a few of the most popular locations for crabbing off the docks:

Nehalem Bay
Kelly's Brighton Marina and Jetty Fishery offer crabbing from the docks for $10 a day including a crab ring rental, your first bait and cooking up to a dozen crab.

Waldport
Public docks on Alsea Bay offer excellent crabbing with rental gear and bait available at Dock of the Bay Marina where you can also have your catch cooked.

Charleston
Rent gear, grab bait and have your catch cooked and cleaned at the Crab Shack. Davey Jones Locker also offers crab ring rentals and licenses. Fisherman's Wharf, a seafood market located on the dock at Charleston also offers crab ring rentals.

Bandon
Rent your gear, and get your license, at Port O' Call on Bandon's Boardwalk then bring your catch back to Tony's Crab Shack next door to have it cooked, cleaned and served up fresh. It's only $8 a day for crab ring and bucket rental.

Public Docks
Crabbing is also popular at public docks including Garibaldi (Tillamook Bay), Newport (Yaquina Bay) and Winchester Bay.

Report Your Crab
If you're crabbing this summer, you can help with C.R.A.B. (Collaborative Research to Assess Bycatch) research, studying the Dungeness crab population. You might get a reward and a chance to win a raffle in the process. Simply look for a tag on your catch, remove the tag and return it to researchers. For more information visit oregoncrabproject.org.
