Seaside is a shopper's paradise offering everything from high-end brand names to artisan-made wares from funky eclectic shops.

Seaside's three distinct shopping districts offer a variety of tax-free shopping experiences, whether you're interested in antiques and apparel or surfboards and smoked salmon.

The downtown core runs along Broadway from Highway 101 to the Prom. The atmosphere is fun, energetic and distinctively beachy. At the Carousel Mall, more than a dozen shops offer a medley of wares from toys to leather goods and apparel to imports. Pick up some bubbles to blow on the beach at the Aspirin Shop. Step back in time with an old-fashioned soda from the fountain at Flashback Malt Shoppe or have a new "vintage" photo taken at Flash from the Past Old Time Photos. Downtown on Broadway, don't miss the great selection of original art and artisan jewelry at Shearwater Gallery.

The historic Gilbert District spans the corner of Broadway and Holladay Drive east of the Necanicum River. The trendy boutique feel of the shops in the Gilbert District is enhanced by the architecture of the historic buildings. This area offers an excellent concentration of home decor stores. At Fairweather House & Garden you'll find paintings by local and regional artists as well as artisan jewelry, fine dinnerware and home decor. Isabell Ross carries a good selection of baby boutique items as well as home furnishings and accessories like crystal chandeliers, electric fireplaces and specialty candles.

There are opportunities for antique and outlet shoppers too. The Seaside Antique Mall in the Gilbert District houses over 60 antique dealers with nearly 100 collections of antiques.

The Seaside Factory Outlet Center is located on Highway 101, half a mile north of Broadway. More than two dozen brand name stores offer factory-direct prices of 20 to 70 percent off retail from such manufacturers as Nike, Black & Decker, Pendleton, Eddie Bauer, Osh Kosh B'Gosh and Zumiez.

Seaside's wide range of apparel stores feature casual styles, beach fashions and outdoor wear suitable for Northwest lifestyles, as well as career wear. Kay Lynn's, a trendy downtown boutique is full of fashionable women's apparel and accessories. SeaSoles offers casual and formal footwear and at Cleanline Surf you'll find equipment and accessories for outdoor fun, ranging from surfboards to sunglasses, swimsuits to surf shorts. Seaside's downtown and Gilbert District art galleries represent local, regional and nationally-known artists.

In addition to tempting your taste for art, shopping in Seaside can tempt your taste buds, as well. Several candy stores offer everything from 170 flavors of saltwater taffy to fine chocolates and ice cream. There are several candy stores ready to satisfy any sweet tooth with salt water taffy and fresh fudge. And don't forget to check out the area's seafood specialty shops. At Bell Buoy of Seaside, Pacific Northwest seafoods can be purchased fresh, canned or smoked and shipped nearly anywhere. Shop Seaside tax-free and take a little of the Northwest Coast home with you.
