Shopping along Broadway from the Necanicum River to the Turnaround at the beach is an unforgettable experience. Just steps from the ocean, Ter Hars clothing store has served visitors for 60 years and today offers a large selection of apparel for young, active lifestyles. Several downtown stores offer colorful t-shirts and sweatshirts. At Freedom USA, you can choose from thousands of designs that can be screen printed or transferred to the shirt of your choice. Downtown For Kids
Downtown shopping has something for every age and the youngest shoppers will be captivated by some of the choices. World of Gifts is a labyrinth of trinkets, costume jewelry, seashells and seemingly endless displays of this and that, an experience like no other. Spin the wheel at Seaside Candyman and you may win a prize, but everyone is rewarded with a sample of salt water taffy. A dazzling display of 170 taffy flavors fills the room and makes for tough choices for every shopper. At Mostly Hats in the Seaside Carousel Mall, kids erupt in laughter trying on Viking helmets, turkey heads, jester hats, crazy hairpieces and more wacky hats. Parents can also join in the fun with a selection of fashionable toppers.

Sweet Places Downtown
Salt water taffy, home-made candy and confections are a Seaside tradition and Phillips Candy is part of that sweet history. The taffy puller, dating back to 1923, produces several flavors in house. There's been a candy store at this location since 1897 and it's been in the Phillips family since the 1930s. The Buzz on Broadway claims to have the greatest collection of candy on the Pacific Coast and you won't get an argument here. There are 200 bins of wrapped candies including licorice, hard candies and taffy. One wall is filled with Jelly Belly Gourmet Jelly Beans and on the other an 18-foot chocolate counter filled with nearly 50 flavors of truffles. There's also a fudge counter and you'll find great old-time candy bars like Abba Zabba and Rocky Road. Tiptons offers house-made, high end gourmet and exotic chocolates for the connoiseur.

Carousel Mall
