Sample Northwest wines and regional cuisine at Savor Cannon Beach Wine & Culinary Festival March 8-11, 2012

Tickets are now available for the Savor Cannon Beach Wine & Culinary Festival March 8-11, 2012 in Cannon Beach, Oregon. The festival includes wine tastings, wine dinners and a wine walk with tastings throughout town from over 20 Northwest wineries. Wine tasting events occur each day of the festival and restaurants host wine dinners and special pairing menus while local retailers offer their own tasting events ranging from specialty salts to gourmet chocolates over the four days.

Festival events begin Thursday, March 8 with the "Thursday Night Throwdown" matching Oregon wines versus Washington wines. Participants taste several red and white wines in head-to-head match-ups by varietal and vote on their favorites. Other festival tasting events include the "Battle of the Blends" on Friday, with attendees sampling red and white blends from various regions of the Northwest. Saturday afternoon, it's the "Winter Wine Tour," a wine walk throughout town as art galleries and stores host Northwest wineries offering tastings to festival participants. Other festival events include a Wine and Cheese pairing seminar with Andy Purdue, editor-in-chief of Wine Press Northwest Magazine and a Sunday morning sparkling wine and brunch bites tasting.

In addition to Cannon Beach restaurants offering wine dinners and special tasting menus, many other local businesses participate with food and wine related events. Icefire Glassworks will feature live demonstrations of hand-blown glass wine goblets, Cannon Beach Book Company will host a book signing by "Dishing Up Oregon" author Ashley Gartland and local galleries will feature artists who create food and wine related art.

A festival ticket offers admission to all of the festival's official tasting events, seminars and a glass to participate in the wine walk. Festival tickets are $99 and may be purchased in advance, online at: or by clicking the link below. Festival tickets good for all events are limited to 100 and have sold out in advance in past years, so tickets to individual events will only be available at the door if space permits. Up to 400 additional tickets will be available for the Saturday Wine Tour (a fundraiser for the Cannon Beach Preschool and Children's Center).

In 2012, the Savor Cannon Beach Wine & Culinary Festival will add a professional judging of Northwest wines. The SavorNW Wine Awards are open to all Northwest wineries and winners will be announced at the opening of the festival. The event is open to all commercial wineries in the Northwest, not limited to those participating in the festival. Information on the SavorNW Wine Awards can be found at
