A new large-scale Tufted Puffin sculpture has been installed at Coquille Point overlook in Bandon, Oregon.

A new large-scale sculpture of a Tufted Puffin has been installed at Bandon's Coquille Point overlook. Cosmo, the Tufted Puffin was constructed out of waste plastics found on the beaches near Bandon and was created by the Washed Ashore project, a program designed to raise awareness about the concerns of plastic pollution in our oceans. Look closely and you'll see plastic pipes, flip-flops, a hair brush and golf balls. Coquille Point overlooks off shore rocks that are part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge and home to one of the few nesting colonies of Tufted Puffins on the Oregon Coast.
