Haystack Rock Awareness Program is offering puffin focused educational activities July 2-3.

From creating puffin puppets to Polaroid prints participants of all ages will have fun and learn all about the Tufted Puffin, the iconic bird of Cannon Beach, Oregon July 2-3, 2018.

The Haystack Awareness Program (HRAP) is offering a free class on Tuesday, July 2 at 10am. Kids will learn about HRAP official mascot while creating their very own puffin puppet to take home as a souvenir.

On Wednesday, July 3rd from 10am until noon HRAP will guide participants on a special tour to Haystack Rock. The puffin population and its role in the ecosystem will be discussed. Learn how plastics affect these sea birds and take home a special puffin pin made from microplastics. Photos will be taken in front of Haystack Rock. Participants in this class will join our newsletter and get special recognition as one of our beloved Puffin Pals. This class is $35, and all proceeds support educational field trips for over 2500 students throughout the year.

The Haystack Rock Awareness Program is in its 33rd season in Cannon Beach and aims to protect the intertidal and bird ecology of Oregon's Marine Garden and National Wildlife Refuge at Haystack Rock through educational opportunities for all visitors.
