Plein Air & More Arts Festival brings together the Cannon Beach landscape in the open air, June 23-25.

Cannon Beach, Oregon has not only been named "One of the Best Art Towns in America," by author John Villani but National Geographic has also listed the North Coast town as "One of the Most Beautiful Places in the World."

Cannon Beach's incredible scenery has been attracting artists for years and for the plein air artist it is Shangri-la. That is why artists and art lovers continue to come from around the world to celebrate this challenging artist style. Cannon Beach Gallery Groups presents the 9th Annual Plein Air & More festival, June 23-25. The festival will feature nearly 50 artists creating art on location throughout the town and on the beach Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

More than your average en plein air event, this festival embraces all artistic media from ceramics to woodworking to jewelry, sculpture and carving. Additionally, leading up to the weekend, there will be workshops hosted by four well-known plein air artists: Mike Ranger, Anton Pavlenko, the mother-son duo of Hazel and Brand Schlesinger and Michael Orwick.

Back by popular demand is the Saturday afternoon Artist Swarm. For two hours in the center of town, participating artists will gather together so visitors can see them all creating in one place. Also returning will be the "Creative Play Space" where children of all ages can explore their own artistic talents. The artsy atmosphere continues throughout the weekend with live music by the Rogue Blue Grass Band, local food and drink and even a Raku firing on the beach at Whale Park

Brochures are available at all Cannon Beach Gallery Group locations and at the Cannon Beach Visitor Information Center.
