A walk in the fog changes familiar landscapes into a new experience.

When I set out on this familiar stretch of beach for a morning walk with friends, the fog was so thick it was disconcerting with visibility limited to just our next few steps. As we walked along the wide beach at low tide, the ocean churned out of sight to the west and we wove through occasional intertidal rocks that punctuated the thick curtain as we neared them. Slowly the fog began thinning and the dramatic sculpted shoreline emerged from the shrouded veil. Every few steps were rewarded as this familiar landscape continued to reveal itself as somewhere I've never been before.
