Shore Acres State Park lights up for the holidays with colorful displays of 300,000 lights.

Shore Acres State Park is the brightest spot on the Oregon Coast from Thanksgiving until New Year's Eve, when the formal garden is decorated in a colorful display of more than 300,000 LED lights. Illuminated displays of pelicans, puffins, a life size spouting Gray Whale and a frog dancing in a real pond are an Oregon Coast tradition at Shore Acres State Park during the holiday season. Decorated by the Friends of Shore Acres State Park, the seven acres of displays are lit daily from 4-9:30pm. With lighted and paved paths, the garden is accessible for persons in wheelchairs or babies in strollers. Refreshments and entertainment in the pavilion will surely get you in the holiday spirit and the gift shop will be open for holiday shoppers. A day-use parking fee of $5 per vehicle or an Oregon State Parks Pass is required, but there is no additional charge to view the holiday displays. Shore Acres State Park is located on the Cape Arago Highway, about 12 miles southwest of Coos Bay. Shore Acres State Park, (541) 888-3732
