Haystack Rock Awareness Program in Cannon Beach announces its 2018 beach season schedule.

The Haystack Rock Awareness Program is entering its 33rd season in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Having educated over one million visitors and thousands of students over those years, the programs mission is to protect through education, the intertidal ecology of the Marine Garden and National Wildlife Refuge at Haystack Rock.

From February through the end of October during low tide times Rock Shore Environmental Interpreters will be on the beach to educate visitors at Haystack Rock about biodiversity. This free program is open to the public and changes seasonally. Participants delight in the arrival of various seabirds and marine life. The program offers bird scopes for viewing, aquaria stations, an interactive visitor table with a microscope and fun hands-on activities for all age groups. The season also includes special events, educational classes and workshops for kids and adults.

The popular "Discover Haystack Rock" events start in May and run through November. Newly added in-depth classes are offered on and off the beach at $35 per person. During the summer months week-long Day Camps for kids are available. Cannon Beach Arts Academy is partnering with Haystack Rock Awareness Program, offering workshops that integrate conservation and art. Haystack Rock Awareness Program offers private guided tours for a fee. On most Saturday's, free guided tidepool tours are open to the public.
