Bring your dancing shoes to the 2nd Annual Chowder & Brewfest, September 9th, at the Lincoln City Outlets.

Musical giant Curtis Salgado will be performing his signature brand of soul, blues and R&B music at the event. Dance the day away, from noon until 7pm, while enjoying micro-brews and the Oregon Coast's signature comfort food, clam chowder.

Salgado, whose career spans over 40 years, is an award-winning singer-songwriter based in Portland, Oregon. His career started in the late 1970s as a member of the Robert Cray Band. But his career really took off one fateful night in Eugene, when a young John Belushi in attendance was so captured by his performance that it inspired his character "Joliet" Jake Blues in the film "The Blues Brothers." From then on, Salgado's career catapulted to stardom performing with such big-name acts as Santana, Steve Miller and Taj Mahal. At Chowder & Brewfest, Salgado will perform fan favorites as well as new tunes from his recent album, "The Beautiful Lowdown."

The Lincoln City Chowder & Brewfest begins at noon, at the Lincoln City Outlets upper parking structure, with clam chowder and craft beer tastings from regional restaurants and microbreweries. Admission to Chowder & Brewfest is $25 for adults 21 and over, and includes five tastings. Designated drivers, 21 and over, is $15 and youths, ages 12-20 years is $10. There is no charge for kids under 11 years of age.
