If you've been mining the central coast in search of an easy-access beach that will accommodate the entire family, this well-loved 135-acre park may be just what you've been seeking.

Pacific Northwest families have been basking on Beverly Beach's blissful shoreline for generations. It's got plenty of kid-friendly activities and is ideally situated for no-fuss beach time. This is one classic coastal tradition you won't want to miss. Centrally located just minutes from Newport, Oregon, Beverly Beach State Park boasts a long, sandy shoreline tucked snugly into a sheltering stretch of forest between scenic Otter Rock and towering Yaquina Head.

An easy-to-navigate pathway leads you from the parking area to the clean and classic Oregon beach, peppered with ancient rocks and nurse logs. Excellent vistas of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Otter Rock are visible in the distance. The beach's southern end offers up visitors some prime kite-flying and beachcombing territory, especially after a storm. If you'd prefer to escape the crowds, make your way up to the beach's quieter north end, where you can dip your toes into the water and watch the surfers ply the waves. Hikers who make the 1.5 mile walk along the beach to Otter Rock can ascend the stairway and visit Devils Punchbowl.

A nature center within the park is open seasonally offering interpretive programs and a grassy picnic area and playground are available for day use. This is a day use fee park requiring a daily pass, an annual Oregon State Parks pass or Oregon Pacific Coast Passport.

Beverly Beach boasts a large forested campground along Spencer Creek, offering more than 125 tent sites, 53 full hook-up sites (including cable TV), 75 sites with electric and water; and 21 yurts.

Beverly Beach is located just off U.S. Highway 101, five miles north of Newport.
