A growing collection of downtown murals offers some great opportunities to experience Seaside history and art al fresco style.
Seaside is collecting art in a big way! A growing collection of downtown murals offers opportunities to learn a bit of Seaside's history al fresco. A 60-foot long mural depicting the daily life of Clatsop and Nehalem tribes native to the area can be seen on the north side of the large commercial building on Broadway and Holladay Drive. The famed "Daddy Train" is brought to life on a wall of the Seaside Museum on Necanicum Drive. The newest Seaside mural, a mosaic tile salmon made up of more than 34,000 tiles, was recently reconstructed at Goodman Park on 12th Avenue. Other favorite Seaside murals include a classic downtown scene of the Turnaround painted inside the Carousel Mall, and a vintage "Welcome to Seaside" postcard on the corner of Broadway and Columbia.
