From Thanksgiving until New Year's Eve, brilliant displays of holiday lights on Oregon's South Coast attract visitors to Shore Acres State Park.

Shore Acres State Park is the brightest spot on the Oregon Coast with its illuminated displays of colorful pelicans and puffins, dancing frogs and a life-sized spouting whale. The park shines with over 325,000 lights from Thanksgiving until New Year's Eve. Decorated by the Friends of Shore Acres State Park, the formal seven-acre garden is lit daily from 4-9:30pm over the holiday season. With paved and lighted paths throughout, the garden is wheelchair accessible. The gift shop will be open for holiday shoppers and refreshments and entertainment in the pavilion will surely get you in the holiday spirit. There is no charge to view the holiday displays but a day-use parking pass for Oregon State Parks Pass is required. Shore Acres State Park is located on the Cape Arago Highway, about 12 miles southwest of Coos Bay. For more information call (541) 888-3732
