Marie Powell Gallery Introduces Work by Lorna Libert

Marie Powell Gallery in Ilwaco, Washington will feature a special showing of oil paintings by Bellingham artist, Lorna Libert. The show opens July 5, with a reception during the Ilwaco Art Walk, 5-7pm. The exhibit will be on display for the remainder of the summer. Libert creates bold and captivating paintings with a subtle twist in perspective. Evoking mysteries of the past, old structures, abandoned buildings, weathered boats and rusting trucks are some of her favorite subjects. Using expressive brushstrokes with thick heavy pigments to emphasize the tactile qualities of her structures, her work is interesting and oddly haunting. Located dockside at the Port of Ilwaco, this charming gallery with a view is open weekends throughout the summer. Marie Powell Gallery, 177 Howerton Way SE, Ilwaco, Washington (360) 244-0800
