Between Seal Rock and Cape Perpetua lie the villages of Waldport and Yachats as well as 16 miles of unforgettable views and opportunities to park and walk to the water's edge. Seal Rock is an easy roadside stop for tidepooling, looking for seals and sea lions or a nice beach walk. Just south in Waldport, Alsea Bay is a great location to catch a dinner of crab, clams, salmon or steelhead, with public docks and gear rentals readily available. Visitors may also enjoy the Historic Alsea Bay Bridge Interpretive Center for more information about the historic span and occasional presentations. The small beach resort community of Yachats makes a great base for exploring the Central Oregon Coast including the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area just to the south. The 804 trail in Yachats is an oceanfront walking trail that parallels a rocky basalt shelf with tidepools and leads to a seven-mile stretch of beach to the north.
